It is not A Genocide
- What is the claim actually about? Why is the claim so controversial?- Why has the claim never been accepted unanimously amongst historians?- Why has this become a political issue whose consequences have even cost lives?
This Friday, February 8th, 2008, the Turkish Student Association, VISA, and ACCENT, will be hosting acclaimed historian Dr. Justin McCarthy from the University of Louisville to speak on the topic of the alleged Armenian Genocide. To an audience of over 800, Dr. McCarthy will define and address the ‘traditional’ theory behind the genocide claim as well as share what his contemporary findings and studies have revealed on the validity of this theory. All of this will be followed with a question and answering session by Dr. McCarthy from the audience. We urge all UF students and faculty to take part in this groundbreaking event and let yourselves go beyond claims and propaganda and allow yourselves decide what is the truth behind the genocide claim.
